Final Hall of Fame Inductee in Chicago

Third trip to Chicago this year! Interior Design magazine's annual Hall of Fame induction always means I get to film some beautiful buildings and spaces and eat some good food. And I love spending time in this beautiful city, especially seeing the architecture and the neighborhoods. And for the second straight shoot here, the All-Asian crew!

Southern Fried Kimchi?

Went to Chapel Hill for my friend Un's new documentary--barbeque, craft liquor, Koreans, southerners, drones. Had to make a dash for the airport and made it with 1 minute to spare!

Documentary "An Eye For An Eye" to Premiere in October

After 10 years of work, my friend Ilan Ziv's powerful documentary about one man's reaction to the events of September 11th, and the lives it affected. This project was more than a regular project. It was deeply affecting--inspiring hope and despair. It opens in NY and select cities Oct. 28th. An Eye For An Eye Film

Turning Pinkfong Into A Puppet

Working with my friend Mr. Clown, got to shoot my first puppet music video. If you have small children, you may already know all about Pinkfong, and now you can see the cartoon character come to life as a living, breathing, puppet, in the extremely catchy, Did you ever seen my tail?

Sizzle Reel for a New BSTV Show

Worked on a sizzle reel for one of my favorite clients--BSTV. Along with the guy who has the best name in television, Zoran Zgonc, had a great time working with Brodee and Joe De. Need to get back on the road with them--maybe this is the show. Hope so!

Chef Ed Lee's love of Gochujang

Worked for my long time friend Eric Rhee and watched Chef Ed Lee use Korea's hot chili paste to spice up some non-Korean dishes. Did I hear someone say umami? I'm using this photo to promote my budding career as a hand model--mixing up a bowl of delicious bibimbap while Scott Brodee and Randy Hall do the honors.. I am always happy to promote Korean food, and would probably do the job just for lunch!

Filming Interior Design's Hall of Famers

Another year of filming the talented designers and architects for Interior Design Magazine's Hall of Fame. The inductees always impress with their work--in hotels, apartment buildings, public spaces. I wish I could live like that. Beautiful surroundings do make you feel better. Interior Design

Premiere of Kitchen Wisdom of Cecilia Chiang

They had a great premiere party for Charlie Pinsky's new PBS series, Kitchen Wisdom of Cecilia Chiang in the East Bay. Took over a P.F. Chang's and served some great food and drinks, and showed all 6 episodes of the show. Always great to see CC and be around her wisdom and sharp sense of humor. Look for the broadcast schedule on www.kqed.org.

Fishing and Cooking for Tastemade and Bonefish Grill

Spent 10 days fishing for lobster in Maine, scallops off the coast of Cape May, New Jersey and hooking snapper in the Gulf of Mexico. Had the pleasure of working with our talented host, Caroline Artiss and a great crew from Chicago. Check out the videos on YouTube.

Interior Design Goes Live on Facebook

Spent a couple of days in the hectic furniture showcase in Chicago, at Neocon 2016. Following Cindy Allen, editor-in-chief, around the crowded showrooms and seeing beautiful furniture designs was capped off with my first experience with Facebook Live! It's pretty amazing what can be done with an iPhone and a wifi connection. Used to take us a ton of gear and a live satellite truck to do the same thing just last year. I'm all for miniaturizing the equipment. Interior Design Magazine

Umlicious--Think Blue Apron and Fresh Direct for Asian Food

My friend Eric Rhee just started a fantastic endeavor--Umlicious.com. Get all your Asian ingredients, stock your pantry from the website, and then get the recipes and other cooking tips so you can whip up your own meals. Tasty and convenient. I shot a few how to videos and other website goodies for Eric with Brodee and Joe De. Eating Korean food is always welcome!

Death By Design Documentary Premieres at SIFF

After three years of filming and over a year of editing, Sue Williams' documentary about the environmental fallout from our digital revolution had its world premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival with two screenings. It was a great chance to see audiences react to film's revelations. After all these years, what a pay off. deathbydesignfilm.com

Filming Ladino Speakers in Seattle

The final shoot for Joe Lovett's documentary, Children of the Inquisition, finds a group of Ladino speakers (ancient Spanish from 15th Century) and the history of Sephardic Jews who emigrated there. Some fled Nazi aggression, while others had come earlier in the early 20th century. A fascinating history of another group of descendants of the Inquisition. Was an pleasure working on this film. http://childrenoftheinquisition.com

Women Entrepreneurs Doing the Heavy Lifting in Houston

Working with Sue Williams, traveled to Houston. Filming profiles of three women who have built businesses in the traditionally male dominated industries of construction, printing and shipping. Inspiring and instructive, watch their stories to hear how they succeeded. TheStoryExchange

Beach Bites shoot escapes winter

When the pilot got picked up, I knew this was going to be a great gig. Following Katie Lee around the finest beaches in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Miami and Key West, Puerto Rico, St. Barth’s and St. Simon’s Island, GA, was a great antidote to winter. The chief work hazard was sunburn and wet shoes! Had a great time and loved our crew--Rachel Martin, Ryan Biegel and of course, Brodee and Joe De. Bring us back for another 10 seasons please!!

Inquisition Documentary Goes to Brasil

Back filming the Children of the Inquisition documentary in Sao Paolo and Recife, Brasil. After traveling to Spain last year, the shooting continued with surprising discoveries--first synagogue in the New World, who became the first New York Jews. And the beautiful cities and weather didn’t hurt!

The Story Exchange is back

Profiled three more fabulous women entrepreneurs in Chicago and Toronto. Stacy’s non-profit work providing used books to Chicago schools, Donna’s network of pro bono lawyers and Melissa’s chain of men’s clothing stores join the other stories on thestoryexchange.org.
